Semnan’s “Taste of Kindness, Scent of Spring” Food Festival Draws Thousands, Raises 12 Billion Rials for Cancer Patients

Raah-e Aseman Foundation’s 6th charity food festival in Semnan, themed “Taste of Kindness, Scent of Spring,” successfully raised 12 billion Rials to support cancer patients, showcasing immense community spirit.

Semnan, Iran – The air in Semnan’s Sabz Garden Complex was filled with the delightful aroma of diverse foods and the vibrant spirit of charity yesterday, as the Raah-e Aseman Charity Foundation hosted its sixth annual “Taste of Kindness, Scent of Spring” food festival. The event, aimed at supporting cancer patients, drew an enthusiastic and generous crowd of benevolent citizens from across the city.

Organized through the dedicated efforts of Raah-e Aseman supporters and local philanthropic activists, the festival transformed the complex into a lively hub of culinary delights and community spirit. The day’s festivities commenced with captivating live traditional music, featuring Daf ensembles, Sorna, and Dohol, setting an uplifting and celebratory tone.

A Feast for a Cause: Culinary Delights and Community Spirit

Across 51 bustling food stalls, attendees savored a rich tapestry of flavors. Offerings ranged from traditional Iranian dishes such as Loobia Polo (rice with green beans), Adas Polo (rice with lentils), Semnani Tahchin (a regional layered rice cake), and Sabzi Polo Semnani (herb rice), to beloved classics like Kebab Koobideh (beef and chicken), Ghormeh Sabzi (herb stew), and various pastas. A wide array of refreshing beverages, homemade pastries, chocolates, and delectable desserts were also on offer, with attendees knowing their purchases directly contributed to the medical and treatment expenses of cancer patients.

A standout highlight, demonstrating the power of collective effort, was the sale of 10,000 freshly made grape leaf dolmehs. Approximately 40 dedicated volunteers came together to prepare and cook this popular dish, beautifully illustrating that kindness needs only a pure intention and a determined heart to flourish in myriad ways.

Beyond the diverse culinary offerings, ten stalls were specially dedicated to products made or sold by patients currently under the care of the Raah-e Aseman Charity Foundation. Impressively, 100% of the revenue generated from these specific stalls will be directly returned to these patients in need. In a thoughtful cultural touch, a book stall themed “Food for the Soul” offered a diverse selection of literature, aiming to nourish minds alongside appetites.

Music, Laughter, and Overwhelming Generosity

The festival’s atmosphere buzzed with excitement, further amplified by ongoing musical performances. Special programs designed for children, centered on promoting the culture of philanthropy and compassion, brought smiles to the faces of the youngest participants. The benevolent citizens of Semnan contributed to this heartwarming initiative in two primary ways: some generously prepared and donated delicious food for the various stalls, while others offered monetary contributions, all in steadfast support of the festival and its noble cause.

One of the most touching displays of generosity was the overwhelming success of the flower stall. Over 12,000 carnation and lisianthus flowers, lovingly provided by the Tadayyonfar family in cherished memory of their child, Kimia, found new homes, adding a poignant layer of remembrance and beauty to the event.

A remarkable aspect of the festival was that all operational and executive costs were entirely covered through public participation and the heartfelt contributions of esteemed benefactors. This collective effort stands as a powerful testament to the community’s solidarity, social responsibility, and the noble spirit of its people. Over 100 compassionate and dedicated volunteers selflessly contributed their time and energy across various sections, including sales, event management, security, and logistics, playing an instrumental role in the event’s smooth and successful execution. A special program aimed at introducing children to the concepts of charity and altruism, voluntarily conducted by Mr. Mehdi Choubdari, was particularly well-received by the young audience, planting seeds of kindness for the future.

A Resounding Success for a Vital Cause

The organizers of the festival expressed their profound happiness and gratitude for the warm and overwhelming response from the people of Semnan, extending their heartfelt thanks to all attendees, benefactors, and volunteers. This festival once again powerfully demonstrated that the benevolent people of Iran consistently stand by their fellow citizens, especially patients in need, keeping the flame of hope alive in their hearts with their unwavering kindness and generosity.

In a final tally of the day’s remarkable success, 220 “ghollak” (traditional small savings boxes) were also received by new supporters from a dedicated “Ghollak Unit” stall, encouraging ongoing contributions to the foundation. Overall, the total income generated from this single-day festival is estimated at an impressive 12 billion Iranian Rials. These funds will be meticulously utilized to further the charitable objectives of the Raah-e Aseman Foundation in providing crucial support to cancer patients.
