Gathering of philanthropists supporting the Rah-e-Asman Foundation at the Iranian Chamber of Commerce
“On Friday, November 2024, a gathering of philanthropists supporting the Raah-e-Aseman Foundation was held at the Iranian Chamber of Commerce. Distinguished figures in the fields of research, treatment, industry, and the arts were in attendance, including Professor Akbari, the CEO of the Mehraneh Charity Foundation in Zanjan, and prominent veteran Iranian artists and athletes. The event brought together philanthropists from across the country.”
“The CEO of the Rah-e-Asman Charity Foundation highlighted the foundation’s educational and preventive efforts in the fight against cancer, noting that Semnan province was underserved in terms of cancer treatment equipment. Thanks to the generosity of philanthropists, particularly industrialists and businessmen, and the commendable efforts of Mr. Ali Asghar Jomei, the esteemed president of the Chamber of Commerce, the initial funds for this initiative were secured. The engineering and medical communities soon joined this campaign, and a comprehensive cancer diagnosis and treatment center was designed to meet all the needs of cancer patients. Thanks to philanthropists such as Engineer Ahmad Malek and a group of Iranian expatriates in the United States, the funds for purchasing two radiotherapy machines were provided and the machines were acquired. The CEO expressed gratitude to all those involved, particularly Dr. Mohammad Mohammadi, one of Iran’s top physicists, for his dedicated efforts on this project.
In his concluding remarks, Sadiqi mentioned that over the past three years, a project worth 1 trillion tomans had been undertaken in Semnan, with 650 billion tomans already allocated for construction and 5 million dollars for medical equipment. The current goal is to complete the radiotherapy section by the end of the year so that this enduring legacy can serve all fellow citizens. He emphasized that the impact of our actions in life and the world is far more enduring than our own existence and that we should pay attention to this important matter.
Following the CEO’s speech, Engineer Ahmad Malek received the Rah-e-Asman Charity Foundation’s prestigious philanthropy award from Mr. Ali Asghar Jomei, along with Dr. Samad Hasanzadeh, the esteemed president of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce, and Professor Farhad Malek.”
“It is worth mentioning one of the most significant donations of the event: Ali Daei’s two jerseys and a pair of shoes were sold for 40 billion rials by the generous philanthropist Dorsa Malek and the esteemed philanthropist Seyed Hamid Alavi, and subsequently donated back to the Rah-e-Asman Museum. It’s noteworthy that the number 7 jersey of the Iranian national football team, signed by all team members and presented by Mr. Ghale Nooee, was donated to the Rah-e-Asman Charity Foundation Museum. The presence of Mr. Hamid Estili further graced the occasion, and this segment concluded with the signing of a football by a child with cancer.”
At this event, all participants, from young students to industry leaders and medical professionals, aligned themselves with the goals of the Rah-e-Aseman Foundation. They generously donated a total of 55 billion tomans through various means, including the sale of artworks and gifts, donations of land and property, cash contributions, and monthly pledges. These funds will be used to support cancer patients and develop the necessary infrastructure.
